DOCENTS
Docents are the essential link between the public and the Greenwood Rising history center. Docents are volunteer facilitators who provide group learning experiences in the form of history center tours, demonstrations, or instruction in the various exhibits.
Docents are needed to engage visitors by providing information on the history significance, experience, and relevance of the history center.
DUTIES
Facilitating tours, conversations, and presentation of the history center
Communicating directly with visitors, including the general public and staff
Implement and practice effective inclusive strategies in a history center setting, that includes discussion, storytelling, and verbal description.
Being knowledgeable and informed on essential Greenwood Rising exhibits.
Attend and complete volunteer Training
Have an attitude of humbleness, flexibility, and respect in relationships with all visitors, peers, and staff.
Adhering to all Greenwood Rising policies and procedures.
