AUGMENTED REALITY (AR)
WALKING TOUR EXPERIENCE
In Collaboration with the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission and supported by a grant from Cox Communications, this app will utilize some of the most cutting-edge AR (Augmented Reality) / WebXR (Extended Reality) technology on the market today. Kujanga “KJ” Jackson, Executive Director of TOUCH (Tulsans Operating in Unity Creating Hope), will lead a team of developers to create a cinematic mobile AR experience that will enable visitors to experience the vanished places, people and stories that built the thriving, prosperous African American enclave known as “Black Wall Street”.
We have assembled a world-class team of developers, graphic artists, cinematographers, writers, voice actors, and more to create an app that is experiential, informative, and unifying in nature. We will also be using students from The Zone Academy, a 21st Century Community Learning Center in North/West Tulsa, as mentees in various aspects of the development and implementation of the app. Allowing these young students of color to be a part of emerging technology and projects will steer them towards career pathways to help them realize they too can be positive contributors to significant events in our country.
